HR Assistant

Salary: Up to £27,315.60 per annum pro rata (Performance based pay rises up to 3 times per year) PR scale

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, up to 42.5 hours per week

Core Purpose

To assist Pastdue Credit Solutions (PDCS) in achieving financial, operational, and strategic goals. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support across the HR cycle, including recruitment, offer letters, contracts, and personnel file management.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Management: Maintain and update the company HRIS (People HR)

  • Compliance: Track and update the HR audit tool and ensure staff adhere to company policies and procedures.

  • Records: Maintain accurate employee profiles regarding Recruitment, Training, Right to Work, and Compliance.

  • Process Improvement: Observe company processes and point out any possible problems or improvements to your manager

  • Security: Comply with PDCS Information Security Policy and best practices.

  • Essential Qualities: Tact, diplomacy, and the ability to work accurately with high attention to detail


  • Desirable Criteria:

    • Excellent record of timekeeping and attendance.
    • Current or ongoing further education (e.g., CIPD or equivalent
    • Disciplinary record (reviewed on a case-by-case basis).

Recruitment Process

Selection for this role will follow a structured four-stage process:

  • Stage 1 (Vetting): Applications will be reviewed against the essential and desirable criteria to create a shortlist for interview.

  • Stage 2 (Preparation): Shortlisted candidates will be contacted and provided with a copy of the interview questions in advance.

  • Stage 3 (Interview): Completion of a formal interview with the HR Manager.

  • Stage 4 (Selection): Final selection and notification of the successful candidate.
