The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a part-time Gym Attendant for the Kroc Center of the Augusta Area Command, located in Augusta, GA.

Job Summary:

Work under the Health and Fitness Manager to see that the recreational programs in the gym and on the fields are implemented as planned. Assist in maintaining the gym and the equipment. Ensure the safe use of facilities by overseeing events and assisting patrons.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of Windows & Microsoft Office, which includes Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of the principles and practices particular to the department's administration; knowledge of general office principles, practices and procedures; knowledge of the principles and practices of the supervision and management of volunteers; knowledge of basic athletic field and gymnasium equipment; ability to interact professionally in all contact with the public and Salvation Army Officers and staff; ability to abide by Salvation Army Policies and Procedures and have an acceptance of Salvation Army philosophy and mission; Ability to maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving; ability to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or GED and two years of experience working in a gymnasium and/or sports league setting; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses and Certifications:

The following certifications will be acquired as directed by supervisor, First Aid and CPR ,Safe From Harm Certification.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Must be in good physical and mental health, capable of meeting the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs; must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.; ability to meet attendance requirements. Work is performed in an environment where there are minimal physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
