<h1><strong>Job Description</strong></h1> <p><span style="font-size: medium">IRC is seeking a Data Clerk to be based in Nairobi for a Euro 30 Million five-year, urban livelihoods program: Refugees in East Africa: Boosting Urban Innovations for Livelihoods Development (RE: BUILD). The RE: BUILD program is funded by the IKEA Foundation and will be implemented in Kampala and Nairobi. The IRC is the Lead Partner and will coordinate a consortium of local and international partners to deliver the program. RE: BUILD seeks urban refugees and vulnerable host residents to achieve economic self-reliance and benefit from strengthened urban economic, regulatory, and social environments. RE: BUILD will strive to enable change at varying levels, from better access to livelihood opportunities and inclusive services within communities to improved refugee-related policies and more targeted and effective service delivery from national, regional, and global actors. Key features of RE: BUILD’s approach include flexible funding, adaptive design and knowledge, and evidence generation.</span></p> <h2><span style="font-size: medium"><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong>:</span></h2> <p>The Data Clerk will be responsible for the following areas:</p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Participate actively in the enforcement of quality assurance, quality control and quality improvement measures for all program interventions.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Support other RE: BUILD project staff members in registering clients using tablets, to program application database.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">support in the verification and cleaning of data to ensure compliance and avoidance of double servicing of clients within IRC programs and also within RE: BUILD implementing partners.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Assist in verifying the accuracy of data as collected at all stages of program implementation and ensure data entered into the Comm Care application is accurate and of good quality.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Cooperate with the project team in developing and updating database and project indicator dashboards.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Handle data collection during baseline surveys, end-line surveys, follow-up surveys, business monitoring, and USLA monitoring exercises.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Coordinate closely with program staff and management on targeting, data collection, data systems and information management.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Support the Client Responsiveness senior officer in organizing and attending client and partner feedback for sessions.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Participate in M&E learning cycles and M&E capacity-building workshops for project staff.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Undertake any other duties as advised by the supervisor.</span></li> </ul> <h3><strong><span style="font-size: medium">Monitoring and Reporting</span></strong></h3> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Work with the other M&E staff to design and Implement Monitoring & Evaluation Plans.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Conduct regular visits to project sites, as possible, to provide technical assistance and ensure proper monitoring of project activities.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Work closely with Senior M&E Officer in the analysis and interpretation of data and in the creation of data exports and dashboards.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Support the Senior M&E officer in preparing M&E monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports for the RE: BUILD management team and the donor, as needed and on time.</span></li> </ul> <h2> <strong>Qualifications</strong></h2> <p>The Data Clerk should fulfil the following requirements:</p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Degree or Diploma in Information Systems, Database Management, Computer Science, or a related field.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">At least 1 to 2 years of meaningful work experience in monitoring and evaluation, data management, data analysis, or similar livelihood programming.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Experience handling data collection and analysis, with experience with or concrete knowledge of open-source tools such as ODK collect, KoBo Toolbox, or CommCare platforms.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Experience in mobile data collection, entry & data cleaning with a large database would be an added advantage.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Humanitarian organization experience preferred, or experience interacting with refugees or vulnerable youths.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Experience conducting critical data analysis and report writing.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relations with local counterparts, donors, and other collaborators.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Strong communication skills, both oral and written.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: medium">Fluency in English and Swahili is required.</span></li> </ul> <p>Are you looking to sharpen your Software Development skills to stay relevant in the market? <a href="https://codingkenya.com/2021/03/5-top-coding-schools-in-kenya/"><strong>CLICK</strong> </a><strong>HERE </strong>to have a look at the top schools.</p> <p>For all your IT certification needs, please,<a href="https://www.comptia.org/certifications/which-certification" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong> click here for information on how to get started</strong></a></p>
